My spouse and i felt very lucky that Albert managed to complete his inquiry using the precious recommendations he gained in your web page. It is now and again perplexing to simply find yourself giving out solutions which usually people might have been making money from. And now we discover we have the blog owner to thank for that. The specific explanations you have made, the straightforward web site menu, the friendships you can make it possible to promote - it's many sensational, and it is helping our son and the family do think this subject matter is entertaining, and that's unbelievably serious. Many thanks for the whole thing!

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?

I think what's "new" in my eyes is how these sites use advertising to sustain themselves.

West Seattle Blog has the same people report the news and sell the ads, most of which come to them unsolicited because they have created so much value for their audience.

Xconomy is targeting young, wealthy and highly educated readers with its content so it can sell long-term sponsorships instead of short-term banner ads.

And TechFlash has created a community (or transported it from Cook and Bishop's days at the P-I) first, giving the site more options (like regular events) in its business model. (To me events for a site like this are live performances for a band that has lost CD store revenue to file-sharing.)

Meanwhile Grist, with 24 employees, is proving that grant-funded operations publishing news can exist outside of NPR and PBS.

True, when your product is news and information, there are only so many actual business models (paid subscription or supported with advertising/funding). But these sites show creativity and I applaud it.

Here's one to wrap your head around: A San Francisco-based news organization that is nonprofit and ad-free, much like PBS, NPR or Consumer Reports:

Okay, I'll bite. How is this new. Two business models: advertisers and subscribers. Am I missing something?
