Nice piece of work.

As a journalist based in Africa, i can say that Journalism has put me on the map because of technology. I can interview anyone i like using tools in my hands and i have found my self in many places of the world.

I can say it is nice to be a Journalist because one can get stories by the use of Web 2.0 applications such as Skype, You Tube, Yahoo messager, Flicker, Blogs,Face book etc in many cases a journalist get info instantly and can also file it instantly.

Just like people consume instant foods they also like consuming instant news. They want to access the news in a form they want.

Technology has enabled people to clarify some SMSes they receive on their mobile phones.

I remember when i first received an SMS about President Levy Mwanawasa's death around 10 hours. i lived to confirm if it was true by listening to the main news at 13:15 hours and the national address by then Vice President Rupiah Banda.

Many Africans come from an oral culture and i have seen that many get their news orally and this can be seen by the high number of community radio stations and also even by the increasing number of mobile phones which they use to communicate in their language of choice.
